Welcome to our comprehensive guide for the Beginner’s Course at Foam@Iberia. We will walk you through each step to ensure a successful learning experience!
We will cover the installation of various essential tools that will enable you to follow the lessons effectively.
Throughout this guide, you will have access to videos that show the installation process for five key tools: Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), Visual Studio Code (VSCode), Notepad++, ParaView v5.11, and OpenFOAM v2306. Each video will address a specific software, explaining the process step by step.

Open Windows PowerShell as Administrator and run the following command:
Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux
Windows 10 users should also run the following command in PowerShell as Administrator:
DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /All /FeatureName:Microsoft-Hyper-V
After each command you’ll be asked to restart the system, and you should do it.
To finalize this step open again PowerShell as Administrator and run the following command:
wsl --set-default-version 2
